In the fleeting last minutes of daylight, Finger Lakes Railway's eastbound GS-2, led by a trio of sharply-painted GP38-2s, passes by the "Martisco" depot in Marcellus, NY. The depot, some 2 miles north of Marcellus, was constructed in 1870 along the Rochester & Syracuse and connected with the Marcellus & Otisco Lake Railway. When the NYC acquired the Rochester & Syracuse, which became the "Auburn Road", they renamed this depot to Martisco, a contraction of Marcellus and Otisco, to avoid confusion with the Central's own station in Marcellus.
