| The NS 4321 leads the 18W by the 125 year old Avalon dam still holding back the Mayo River. The dam is still used for hydro power production today. It originally powered the Avalon textile mill which burned in 1911. The Mill was then rebuilt about 3 miles south in the town of Mayodan and the small town of Avalon was abandoned. |
