On November 12th, 2025, westbound SLE train 1659, with CTrail GE P40BH 6710 leading, passes Amtrak Work Extra 115, with GE P42DC 115 painted in Phase 7, as it approaches the station at Guilford, Connecticut, along the Shore Line section of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.
Work Extra 115 was in the process of setting out one of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) Wash Trains, consisting of MBTX 50 (a flatcar outfitted with sprayer equipment) and MBTX 57918 (a water-filled tank car). The consist had been leased by Amtrak for use on the MRS/Hartford Line but developed mechanical issues earlier that morning, requiring it to be set out in the seldom used Whitfield Siding for repairs.
