On November 12th, 2025, westbound SLE train 1667, with Kawasaki M8s, passes one of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) Wash Trains as it approaches the station at Guilford, Connecticut, along the Shore Line section of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.
This Wash Train, consisting of MBTX 50 (a flatcar outfitted with sprayer equipment) and MBTX 57918 (a water-filled tank car), had been leased by Amtrak for use on the MRS/Hartford Line but developed mechanical issues earlier that morning, requiring it to be set out in the seldom used Whitfield Siding for repairs.
