A pair of LMX B39-8 diesels (LMX 8581 and 8528) have brought an eastbound Burlington Northern freight in from the Akron Sub, and that crew has gotten off the train, which is awaiting a fresh crew to continue its trip east on the Hastings Sub. This Division Point is also where the Time Zones change for the railroad (the actual Time Zone border is about 25 miles west of here). So, this freight arrived utilizing Mountain Time, but in a few minutes will depart "one hour later" thanks to it now being in the Central Time Zone.
General Electric built 100 of these B39-8 diesels in 1987/1988 for subsidiary GE Rail Services, utilizing the reporting mark LMX. These were placed in a long-term "power-by-the-hour" lease to the Burlington Northern, which at this time was also leasing 100 EMD SD60s (from EMD subsidiary Oakway Inc.).
