CSXT 1 leads the 83rd Santa Train southbound at Nora Junction, splitting the Clinchfield era US&S intermediates. Nora Junction is where the former CRR Nora Spur splits from the mainline. The Nora Spur was the oldest of the Clinchfield Railroad's branch lines, and was started in 1925 and, after a series of additions and extensions over the years, made it to the Blue Diamond mine by late 1943. It served a number of mines in the area for its entire existence.
