Representation. On Monday, November 17, 2025, Conrail Shared Assets held a ceremonial opening and demonstration at the new Point-No-Point Bridge that links Kearny and Newark, New Jersey, across the Passaic River. The new bridge, which has already been in service for several weeks, replaces the 1901 Pennsylvania Railroad built bridge in the background. Among other benefits, it greatly improves the several-hour time to open to allow ships to pass with a new brisk 5-minute lift. As part of this project, in January 2025, power transmission lines were removed from the original bridge structure, and new wires were strung on much higher independent standing poles, all of which will allow larger ships to pass through here more rapidly. For the event, Conrail used borrowed NJT GP40PH-2B 4208, which was previously repainted into a Conrail heritage paint scheme, to lead standard cab units from CSX and Norfolk Southern, which jointly own Conrail Shared Assets. The locomotives are seen traveling up the Passaic and Harsimus Line in Newark, New Jersey on the way to the ceremony.
