The Railroading Heritage of Midwest America organization operated two days of excursions with restored DDA40X "Centennial" locomotive #6936, with Iowa Interstate providing ES44AC #513 for backup. The trainset operated one round trip per day - west towards South Amana, IA on 9/20 and east to Bureau Junction, IL on 9/21, both trips originating in Silvis, IL. Here, the Bureau Junction trainset begins its final approach to Silvis, crossing the Rock River bridge in Colona.
Although most only provide freight service, regional railroads have passenger operations; not only executive trains but also charity events and excursions.
