Austrian railway company Westbahn has ordered three SMILE high-speed trains, known as Giruno trains at SBB, from StadlerRail and will lease them for six years. They are scheduled to be deployed on the Vienna-Semmering-Graz-Klagenfurt-Villach route from spring 2026. The car bodies for these trains will be manufactured in Bussnang and then transported without bogies on special low-loader wagons to Erlen, where they will be placed on the bogies and the train will be assembled. Here we see car bodies E and F for Westbahn's third train, the RABe 501 # 044, being transported in Erlen.
