| Akron Cut
Modernization of the High Plains Route or McCook Division today know as the Brush and Akron subs in the 1930s to increase speeds gives us some neat engineering to photograph. Eastbound into the morning sun exits the entirety of the Akron cut and its subtle wiggle with a variety of historical BN, NP, GN, and ATSF power. Another grade reduction and increase in degree of curve is located at Keenesburg and other unique locations. A lot of interesting history on High Plains Route. |
