The Railroading Heritage of Midwest America organization operated two days of excursions with restored DDA40X "Centennial" locomotive #6936, with Iowa Interstate providing ES44AC #513 for backup. The trainset operated one round trip per day - west towards South Amana, IA on 9/20 and east to Bureau Junction, IL on 9/21, both trips originating in Silvis, IL. Here, the Bureau Junction trainset makes its way westbound back to Silvis, rolling underneath Wyanet Walnut Rd near Hennepin Canal Lock 19 on the south side of Wyanet, IL.
Although most only provide freight service, regional railroads have passenger operations; not only executive trains but also charity events and excursions.
