Having already run their eastbound leg on October 25, 2025, CSX L071w was now heading back for home through Carmel, Maine under much different conditions. The day began with drizzle and a couple rebuilt GE widecabs out of Waterville. Fortunately, a later power swap with the previous day's L072 at Northern Maine Junction offered up two classic SD40-2s in temporary sunshine. Approaching Route 2, 8833 led 8365 and 40 cars through some later foliage.
