| Remarks & Notes |
| The 36 ex-IC SD70s are still a big part of CN's locomotive fleet. A big number of them have seen their days assigned to the greater Chicago area or the Kirk to Centralia corridor. Once in a while, these units will venture off the beaten path to Fond du Lac or to Iowa. In Iowa, these units are normally turned right back to get them back into their base. Today the IC 1000/1002 came into Waterloo on 337, and 3 hours later they are on the way back to Chicago on 338. 338 is 8 miles out of Waterloo as they rumble 10K of Iowa tonnage east. The IC 1000 got DP duties heading back east and can be seen cut in 50 cars deep as the train tops the Big Raymond grade. |
