| The Cedar Rapids to Waterloo local is about 5 miles from La Porte City. This job can be all over the place for timing heading back to Waterloo. Usually the job heads south out of Waterloo from 21:00 to 00:01. With online work, possible delays from the UP, CN, and CIC at Cedar Rapids; you never know when they will be heading back out of Cedar Rapids. Today the crew had lengthy stops at Vinton and La Porte City for work. Here the job passes one of the few ex-Rock Island ABS signals that have seen better days left along the right-of-way. This job sucks because it gets the non-PTC HLCX junk lots of times. |
