Formerly the Appanoose County Community Railroad (APNC), Iowa Southern is based out of Centerville, IA, and uses 3 abandoned mainlines (Wabash/Rock/CB&Q) to run from Centerville to Albia. Prior to 2016, the railroad was partly operated by the county, but now this is a Progressive Rail property. Today we lucked into info on the job departing Centerville for the trip back to Moravia. The fixed distant signal south of Moravia has been on the bucket list of mine forever. While the light wasn't perfect, I'm glad to get movement by it.
