We have seen a destruction of Midwest coaling towers this week. 2 on the Amtrak Michigan line and the UP at Nelson have been or will be torn down. One can still see a few left along various mainlines. During the Summerail weekend, we did manage to get an eastbound (south) under the tower northeast of Marion on the NS Sandusky Line. This coal train, 746, is a 110-car train bound for the Duke Energy Plant in Belews Creek, NC.
