Big Blue Serves The Bronx. On the evening of Wednesday, October 29, 2025, CSXT 8854 (née-CR 6496, SD40-2, 8/1979) and 8840 (née-CR 6465, SD40-2, 10/1978) were in position to lead CSX M702-29 at Waste Management in the Bronx, New York. These former Conrailers continue to serve their 'home rails' well into the 21st Century. In the background is the Willis Avenue Bridge and the lift section of the Triboro (RFK) Bridge. The appearance of these veteran standard cabs is becoming rarer on the CSX freight trains that serve New York City as they give way to the AC44CWs and CM44ACs that are displacing them.
