“LIRR Returns BNSF to Fresh Pond”

After a weeklong stay at Garden City during the 2025 Ryder Cup PGA Championship at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course, the BNSF Railway Ryder Cup OCS special began its journey home on September 29, 2025, as the Long Island Rail Road returned the train to New York & Atlantic Railway's Fresh Pond Yard in Queens, New York, for pickup by CSX. In this photo LIRR, with 3 EMD MP15ACs, snakes the BNSF train the "East Yard" at Fresh Pond Yard as they head towards the east leg of the Wye.
