It may be obvious by the (former) locations of the lights, and L-windshield, on East Penn Railroad GP38-2 2172 that this locomotive was built by EMD for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Built in May 1980 as SP 4825, this GP38-2 was the only one of SP's GP38-2s to receive the "Speed Lettering" scheme. Thanks to the acquisition of the SP by the Union Pacific on 9/11/96, becoming UP 588 in December 2004. UP retired this locomotive in October 2023 and it passed through locomotive dealer Metro East Industries (of East St. Louis IL) to East Penn Railroad, becoming ESPN 2172 on November 7, 2023.
