The Past or the Future?
RSTX 1002 is the first of 6 F40PH-4Cs leased to the MBTA by Rolling Stock Solutions, a Boston-based startup that remanufactures ex-Amtrak F40s to offer commuter rails a quick solution to power shortages. On August 17th, the Readville switcher made a trip out to Framingham to pick this unit up, and thanks to apparent cab signal and brake issues in Newton, I was able to catch up to them in Boston at the 3.3 switch.
