“M2 @ Merritt 7”

On the night of September 20th, 2025, Metro-North Railroad’s “New Haven Switcher” crew shuttled EMD FL9 CTDX #2006 and General Electric M2 pair MNCW #8707/8706 from the Danbury Railway Museum in Danbury, CT, to New Haven Yard via the Danbury Branch and the New Haven Line. The equipment was moved in preparation for display at the 2025 Metro-North Open House. In this photo, General Electric M2 MNCW #8707 trails on the consist as it passes Merritt 7 station on the Danbury Branch in Norwalk, CT.
