Remarks & Notes |
ATSF 672 and company look striking as they lead an eastbound off Marias Pass near a point known as False Summit. When John J. Stevens with his Flathead indian companion was surveying a route for James J. Hill, in the deep snow and the cold, they thought they had reached the summit here and the indian turned back. Hill continued and found the true summit at Marias Pass lay a few miles to the west. Thanks to WaltersRail.com for the interesting story. Fuji Astia. |
