Remarks & Notes
Alabama...the other Alberta. CPKC deployed its Calgary-based business train to the Deep South, in part, to tour the new joint Myrtlewood-oriented SMX Advantage subdivision with CSXT and their acquisition of the former Meridian & Bigbee trackage (which still operates local service on the CPKC portion). This is the deadhead to Montgomery, where a VIP trip will originate. Thanks to bridge work, this tree tunnel has been opened up. Why the Calgary-based train with a similar one now at Shreveport for CPKC? Sounds like they are overhauling that set, so this one was sent....perhaps for other trips as well. CP 1401 was one of the first two F's to join modern CP, ex-Nebkota nee-VIA/CN. With the KCS train, they now have SEVEN F-units at their disposal. Mercy!

CP specials, including steam, executive trains and the famed Holiday Train, frequently can be seen south of the border.
