Home to the Cedar River, Osage has been the starting and stopping point of crews working the Osage Sub for many years. This year that changed when District 2 CN crews got qualified to run to Charles City for the new Valero ethanol plant business. I wouldn't be surprised if those crews get qualified to run to the Absolute Energy plant near Lyle, MN, later this year, too. CN picked up that new business in April. Grain is also moving now in bunches with the IANR sale; the Osage Sub is a happening place nowadays! Here the day crew rolls past the depot with mainly empties on the local bound for Waterloo.
