| So...the paint was brought back to the full promotional scheme it wore in 2002 along with NS 3329. It was built as an SDP40F for Amtrak as their #644, later going to ATSF rebuild as their 5266/6976, then DynaRail leased it out as the 644 again only to be renumbered back to 6976 and sent for occasional use/long term storage in Nevada. 2025 saw it return to 2002 glory and sent to IRM, where it led trains and was part of throttle time for Diesel Days. But WAIT! There's more....IRM plans to return 6976 to full Amtrak 644 paint. |
