Remarks & Notes

A pleasant June afternoon in the Potomac River valley at Magnolia finds the westbound local freight led by an ex-L&N GP30. This was an interesting signal system as the indications remained clear in both directions on same track when nothing approaching or lined into the block; functioning sort of like semaphores in allowing one to anticipate movements as such.
