On a misty morning of June 10th, 2025, Metro-North Railroad’s Geometry/Track Inspection Train, led by EMD GP35r 106, pulls into Union Station on the Waterbury Branch in Waterbury, Connecticut, passing the station’s only obstructed sign.

The Geometry train is tasked inspecting the overall track geometry on all main line trackage utilized by Metro-North trains at track speed. This includes the Hudson, Harlem & New Haven Lines as well as the New Canaan, Danbury & Waterbury branches.
