Remarks & Notes
The Oberweißbacher Bergbahn, renamed the Thüringer Bergbahn in 2020, is a railway line in the Thuringian Slate Mountains, now operated by DB RegioNetz Verkehrs GmbH Oberweißbacher Berg- und Schwarzatalbahn. Since 1922, it has connected the Obstfelderschmiede stop on the Schwarzatal Railway with the municipality of Cursdorf. To overcome the height difference of more than 300 meters between the Schwarzatal valley and the plateau, a funicular railway with a gauge of 1800 mm was built from Obstfelderschmiede to Lichtenhain. In Lichtenhain station, the train from Cursdorf with railcars ET 479 # 203 and # 205 in multiple control is entering the station, running over the turntable in the foreground. On the left stands the car, which can be placed on the "Güterbühne" of the funicular instead of the "cabrio car" in winter or bad wether.
