Remarks & Notes
The Oberweißbacher Bergbahn, renamed the Thüringer Bergbahn in 2020, is a railway line in the Thuringian Slate Mountains, now operated by DB RegioNetz Verkehrs GmbH Oberweißbacher Berg- und Schwarzatalbahn. Since 1922, it has connected the Obstfelderschmiede stop on the Schwarzatal Railway with the municipality of Cursdorf. To overcome the height difference of more than 300 meters between the Schwarzatal valley and the plateau, a funicular railway with a gauge of 1800 mm was built from Obstfelderschmiede to Lichtenhain. The car "Lichtenhain" of the funicular is just above the valley station of Obstfelderschmiede. In the background, on the turntable, which served to bring freight cars up the mountain, is a black diesel shunter "Köf" exhibited.
