One day after Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary, I got a tip that the Amtrak car wrapped to commemorate it was heading my way. So, I set up for a clean shot of the car, not realizing that Metrolink would operate Inland Empire-Orange County Line train 808 on the closer mainline at the exact same time!!!. *sigh*
Oh well.
At least I got a shot of both trains at Control Point Maple, where the Metrolink train, led by F125 925, will diverge off the Orange Sub and onto the Olive Sub as it heads from Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo to downtown Riverside. Meanwhile, a lengthy 8-car Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 572, with CDTX SC-44 2110 on the point, and consecutively numbered 2111 on the rear, heading from Los Angeles to San Diego, meeting the commuter train led by SCAX F125 925.
