Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway F7A 347C (ex-ATSF 306C, née-ATSF 39C) and along with F3B 347B (ex-ATSF 307B, née-ATSF 35A) were borrowed from the California State Railroad Museum by the Santa Fe in 1988, restored into the classic Warbonnet paint scheme for use in a promotional film, and then returned to CSRM for display. These two F-units are still not operable, but perhaps one day they might be mechanically restored as well. The pair is seen in the old Central Pacific/Southern Pacific shops near the museum, awaiting a bit of TLC before once again being on display in the museum itself. Personally, I’d like to see them restored, in this class paint scheme, to their original numbers: 39C and 35A. (Sacramento, California – June 23, 2025)
