The 8.991-kilometer-long 80-centimeter narrow-gauge Abt cog railway from Capolago on Lake Lugano (294 meters above sea level) to Generoso Vetta at 1,592 meters above sea level was opened in 1890. Greesing of the steam locomotive H 2/3 # 2, built in 1890 by SLM in Winterthur, in Bellavista during the water stop. The train was refurbished by Martin Horath in Goldau last year. The locomotive was exhibited in Capolago from 1956 to 1984.
