Off display and back in the old Central Pacific Shop complex (much of it built in 1968) where the California State Railroad Museum stores and works on a variety of equipment in their collection, is Southern Pacific E9A 6051, wearing the classic Daylight paint scheme in which it was delivered … Minus its nose shield, which has been removed for safekeeping (and possibly refurbishment?).
