For the “Pullman Club,” the heavy oil-fired 2-8-2 steam locomotive of the “Mikado 1244” association, built in Canada for the French SNCF, ran for the very first time with the air-conditioned “Prestige Continental Express” dining cars ARmz "LE RUBIS NOIR" and "LE SALON BLEU" of the IRSI AG as a special train. It included a first-class Am car from the “SUISSE TRAIN BLEU” and the “Schützengarten” bar car. At the end of the train was the former SBB Re 4/4 I # 10009, built in 1947 as # 409, now painted blue (privately owned, operated by TR TransRail), for supplying power to the cars. Train 31732 from Brugg AG via Olten-Burgdorf-Bern to Fribourg can be seen traveling at full speed at around 100 km/h near Bollodingen, between Herzogenbuchsee and Riedtwil.
