Pulling a string of autoracks along the Union Pacific's Dolores Industrial Lead is Union Pacific SD45 (now dubbed an SD40M-2) 2664, along with a Union Pacific SD40-2. UP 2664 was built by EMD in March 1969 as Southenr Pacific SD45 9020. SP would retire this diesel in 11/90, and in 4/90 sell it to National Railway Equipment Corporation (as NREX 9020). In 6/94 NREX would sell it to Morrison-Knudsen, rebuilt it into SP SD40M-2 8588. This diesel was renumbered UP 2664 on 12/13/01. (Carson, California – June 9, 2005)
