On the occasion of the “150 years of the Emmental Railway” anniversary on May 17 and 18, 2025, there was a lot going on on the tracks of the Emmental! The Mikado 1244 association offered a round trip, visiting or passing through some of the festival locations. The picture shows the train with the leading 141R 1244 shortly after leaving the Sumiswald tunnel near Gammenthal. It is about to tackle the 25 promille gradient of the RSHB (Ramsei-Sumiswald-Huttwil Railway) to Affoltern-Weier. The Ae 6/6 11407 “Aargau” running at the rear of the train will probably be pushed along slightly. Fortunately, the thick cloud cover allowed some sunshine to shine through at just the right moment.
