Test Extra.
Amtrak HHP-C no. 9751 brings up the rear of a special training train passing through Harrison Station on the Northeast Corridor. The unusual consist was being used to train engineers on the newly-modified cab cars in anticipation of them entering service. The HHP-C were converted from the notoriously unreliable HHP-8 locomotives, which Amtrak retired after just 10 years of service and which then sat since 2015 as legal disputes played out between Amtrak and the locomotives owners. The test train consisted of HHP-C no. 9751, ACS-64 no. 623, Amfleet coach 82651, 40th Anniversary Amfleet Cafe Car 85999, and HHP-C no. 9750 - two cab cars meant training could be performed in both directions.
