On the night of Thursday, April 17, 2025, Ronkonkoma train 1977 collided with a vehicle at the Wellwood Avenue grade crossing, causing the car to explode and the front of 9157 to catch fire. The following day, MP15AC 158 was observed towing the pair to Hillside, crews will evaluate the damage to determine whether or not repairs will be made.
