Close Clearance. On the night of Wednesday, April 8, 2025, MTA Metro-North Railroad's PMMO (Night MOtt Haven switch job) transferred the third leased CT Rail GP40-3H from Croton Harmon Shop to Stamford, CT. This unit joins 6698 and 6699, also temporarily on the Metro-North roster. Using MNCW 105 (GP35r), the set was towed south to Mott Haven in the Bronx, New York, where it changed ends and had the CTDX 6695 leading toward the Harlem and ultimately on the New Haven Line. The wire was de-energized and the train was operated at a very slow speed through the New Rochelle Station due to clearance concerns, and otherwise made it to Stamford without issue. It will run on the Waterbury and Danbury Lines when operating in revenue service.
