Sailing By Seamans. NJ Transit Train 2108 had New Jersey Transit's Conrail Heritage Unit, GP40PH-2B NJTR 4208 (ex-CR 3191, née-Penn Central 3191, EMD, GP40, 10/1968) for power on January 25, 2025 after a recent snowfall. The train is passing the "Seamans Lead" in the foreground, a spur leading to a cluster of freight customers in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey railroad east of the NJT Wood-Ridge Station next to Ethel Boulevard. This line was served by Conrail from 1976-1999 separate from its passenger business, and is still served by Norfolk Southern today on as a needed basis. In the background, the rising stacks of houses and businesses show the increasing elevation of the rest of the Borough from the low lying Meadowlands area.
