Blue Hour Crowded Crossing. On the evening of Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the marked crossing at Springfield Avenue at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois, a number of vintage automobiles were arranged up as part of a night photo event. The shoot featured former St. Louis-San Francisco Railway "Frisco" 1918 Baldwin Locomotive Works 1630 (2-10-0). This is one of 2 operating "decapods" in the United States (the other being former Great Western No. 90 at the Strasburg Rail Road) and is an active member of the IRM steam fleet.
A recent spike in a personal interest of the skill and work it takes to create and ultimately nail a shot in the dark using flash technology, leads to this album.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
