Bright At Night At Highbridge. Thought it was late at night on September 11, 2024, there was all kinds of action going on at the MTA Metro-North Railroad Highbridge Facility in the Bronx, New York. The most significant lights are those of the "Tribute In Light" extending above the New York City skyline, the annual memorialization of the area where the World Trade Center "Twin Towers" once stood. In the foreground, CSX M702-11 is on the move to Selkirk, New York, being passed by a Poughkeepsie bound Metro-North Train, while in the mid ground, one more train is still waiting to come out of the yard after CSX clears. In a few moments, the area will be quiet again, but this was a particularly busy moment on the railroad.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
