| Return of the Mac.
After four and a half years of bustitution, trolley service has returned to Route 15 in Philadelphia!
Newly rebuilt PCC III car 2326 is seen plying the rails at Girard Ave and Frankford Ave, having just passed under the Market-Frankford Line (known locally as the "el") and passing an unusual double stack of McDonalds signs. The car was built in 1947 by the St. Louis Car Co., and had already been rebuilt once in the early 2000's. The most recent rebuild stripped the car - and its 17 siblings - completely down to the frame, after extensive mechanical issues were discovered in 2020. |
