The 211s. It was a very modern scene as two of the three Kawasaki built Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYCT Subway R-211 (left - R-211T 4050 "C" and right R-211A 4215 "A") varieties met up at the 168 Street Station in New York, New York on the evening of April 30, 2024. On the right is the standard R211A, which returns the large route letter to the front as well as a number of other modernizations on the previous NTT (New Technology Train) design. On the left, is one of two "open gangway" sets, which are similar to the R-211A but have open articulated sections and do not have doors between the cars of the each 5-car set. Both 10-car trains of R-211T sets can be found in service on the "C" as the MTA evaluates the feasibility of the concept of open gangway for future orders.
