The CN&W use their Oelwein Shops til May 31, 1994. The line from Oelwein from Marshalltown was severed in 1987-88 due to the construction of the highway thru Waterloo. The CNW then used the IANR to ferry power to and from Waterloo to allow for power to still go to Oelwein. After the shops closed in May 1994, the CNW then used Transco, in Oelwein, to repaint some of its units, which is probably why the 4601 is here. Scanned Slide from 9-03-94.
