The Bronx Is Rising. MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 8845 was passing through CP5 near Park Avenue in the Bronx, New York on Saturday, February 24, 2024 as the sun set in the background. Once a very open view, buildings are cropping up all over, but the Empire State building is still prominent in the background in Manhattan. The golden sunset and MNCW 211 (MNR 40th Anniversary/New York Central Heritage) evoke images of a time that the area around the Mott Haven neighborhood was once home to a major yard for the Central and perhaps the passengers would be heading off on a long distance adventure as the fans of 'North By Northwest' and Cary Grant would imagine.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
