| -30 windchills didn’t stop myself and countless others from going out in cold weather to follow Union Pacific’s Troy Grove Job. All the blowing snow and intense winds over the past weekend had scattered snow drifts all over Union Pacific’s Troy Grove Division between DeKalb and Troy Grove. Due to the line only seeing rail traffic M-F with no trains on weekends, the Troy Grove Job had made its first voyage of the week down the Troy Grove Line since the storm. That resulted in tons of drift busting action as the train plowed through many snow drifts scattered along the line formed during the weekend all throughout the Northern Illinois countryside. They are seen here plowing through one of many drifts at Duffy Road, before approaching BX crossing. |
