The Montana Rail Link yard at Logan, Montana, is busy on the morning of October 3, 2022. MRL’s 844 Logan local waits for a MRL Ballast train to clear before it can continue switching its own train together. The ballast train, powered by a pair of EMD SD70ACes, is entering MRL’s 5th Subdivision to Whitehall, where the train will continue up the Spire Rock Industrial Track to the loader located on the former Butte main line at Spire Rock.
