Cogwheel locomotive He 2/2 # 1 of the La Rhune railway (Chemins de fer de la Rhune) is running down above Col de Saint-Ignace (170 meter a.s.l.) from the summit of La Rhune (888 m a.s.l.), with the two cars # 4 and # 6. The vehicles date from 1914, but the line was inaugurated in 1924 only. The gauge is 1 meter, maximum grade 25 %, operated by 3000 V 50 Hz three-phase current. The railway is operated with a total of 4 trains, all with one locomotive shoving two cars, the timetable shows two trains following each other, departing every 40 minutes. Nowadays, the railway is operated by the Établissement public des stations d’altitude (EPSA).
