Remarks & Notes

Santa Fe 650 leads an eastbound manifest out of Abo Canyon on the long grade to Mountainair. A second main track was added to this busy route a few years later but at this time the railroad was pushing some 70 or more daily trains through a long single track section that began just in advance of the 650 at Scholle. Most likely there were one or more westbounds waiting their turn through the canyon.
